Nandopsis tetracanthus

Common name

    Cuban Cichlid

    Cuba

Aggression
Semi aggressive cichlid, who enjoys the company of its own species. I have had success keeping them in community tanks. The smaller the tank the more aggressive this species tends to be, its always good to add lots of rocks, plants and driftwood for territorial reasons. I would say nothing less than a 55 gallon would be exceptible.

Ph Range----------------- From 7.0 (Neutral) to 8.0
    Size-------------------------Length is 8 to 10 inches(20 to 25cm).

Diet
tetracanthus will feed on most standard preprepared foods. Will also take small feeders and brine shrimp.

Sexing/Breeding
Males will typically be a lighter color with more black spots along the body. Females of this species will tend to be darker with more rounded fins. This fish is rather hard to breed in captivity, but more experienced fishkeepers have had success.
